5 years continuous experience programming server-side pure/core Java (this is NOT Web or J2EE) and some demonstrable experience programming Swing. The candidate should have done extensive real-time, multi-threaded server side development and worked intensively with high speed/high volume messaging.

 

It is a downside if I see things like Web, J2EE, EJB, Struts, JavaScript and so forth unless it is also accompanied by separate and equal or greater experience with multithreading, sockets/NIO, RMI, Tibco RV, RMDS, real-time, etc.

 

I would de-emphasize all business experience if someone came from, say, a telco and did this kind of programming.

 

 

 

This is a Java developer position requiring at least 5 years continuous experience programming server-side pure Java (this is not Web or J2EE) and some demonstrable experience programming Swing. Ideally, the developer has a solid knowledge of the Fixed Income cash pricing and cash bond trading and the markets. The developer would also preferably have worked a minimum of 3 years in the Fixed Income trading world at one of the large investment banks.
